Bone dust settles on smouldering embers, and once again The Eternal Fire burns. The long death of great god Corvus is ended. His bleached bones crumble as his chosen turn to dust upon the wind, yet you remain.

Why do you linger among the outcasts, heretics and shambling dead?

Clinging to the embers of your failing communes you stagger through the barren wastes, following the smouldering motes upon the wind to The Bastion, here to witness and to shape the coming end, and what will lie beyond
.

Grave Of The Eternal Fire is a weekend-long Live Action Role Play event where the main deity of the world has departed, taking with him all of those deemed sufficiently faithful.

The players will be those who were left behind, in an ever shrinking world, trying to find a way forwards out of the dark.

The Event

The event will take place from the evening of Friday 30th August 2024 until early afternoon on Sunday 1st September 2024. The Event is the second in the Eternal Fire Series, though characters from previous events are not carried over.

The Facebook group for the event: https://www.facebook.com/groups/EternalFireLARP/

The ref team can be contacted at eternalfirelarp@gmail.com

The address is Birch Hall Scout Campsite, Langdale End, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO13 0BW.

The website for the site is: http://birch-hall.org.uk/

The event will be fully catered, which is included in the ticket price. A catering form will be sent to booked attendees nearer the event.

The expected player price for this event is £100 catered, £66 Self-Catered. Crew will be free. We will have a voluntary fund to subsidise tickets for those less able afford the full ticket price.

The event is set in a fictional fantasy world with an approximately medieval level of technology.

Core Philosophy:

  • Resources are to be used: Skills are used, mana is depleted and recovered, items are used to further the plot; or else you perish. At the end of all things, hoarding is not permissible; there is no rainier day.
  • Harsh and Consequential: We don’t intend to kill the whole character-base, but each lost opportunity will hurt, getting into the wrong fight will be lethal, making no compromises will have you be enemies of all.
  • Increasing Hope: The weekend starts at its bleakest and gets more and more hopeful as things go on.
  • Exploration: Players will discover many elements about the world around them, from physical to mystical discovery; exploring possibilities and opportunities will be key.

Our minimum attendee age is 16. Any under 18s must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18 who takes responsibility for them.

The event is anticipated to be high death and featuring both social and violent Player Vs Player game, as well as Player Vs Monster. It would be sensible to bring some kit for a backup character, though the ref team will have kit available to borrow in such a situation.

The site has ticks, so please ensure that legs are covered as much as possible. The ref team will have tick removal devices, and guidance will be given on how to deal with them.

The game will run from early Friday evening to early afternoon on Sunday. If players need to arrive after the game begins, we will gladly accommodate this.

We will have 24 hour time in – although not necessarily a 24 hour plot. Bedrooms will be assumed to out-of-character, though non-violent roleplay may occur inside them with all occupants’ consent.

We do recommend that all players read the themes of the event in the Event Rules to check that this is the right event for them.

Characters will be created by players when booking and new characters can be created at the event, should a character die or prove not fun for the player.

There are various stats and soft skills, selected by the players when booking from the Character Creation document. The full list of gods is not available to players ahead of the game.

Non-combatant players are welcome and we will have a non-com system to enable full access to the game – these are outlined in the Event Rules.

The head ref is Nathan Tommis, leading a crack team of Danny “DANNY LASTNAME” Scott, Josie Adam, Michael Brown, Dragon Dave McKee and Sean Patterson.
